yes, mushrooms are phototropic. heating pads increase colonization if they dont bring the temperature above 86

Your mushrooms will generally grow toward the light. Most people probably have their light on top, but I don't think that it matters much. They may grow sideways toward the light, but other than ease of picking them I don't see any problem.

codfish is correct, psilobe mushrooms will grow twards the light therefore your mushrooms will grow sideways twards the light if that is acceptable to you then go on the way that you are
