this is not really ethnobotanical, and i didnt know where else to post it where i might get help with this. but i want to grow an orange tree, anyone have expeirience with this? i picked an orange from my granpas orange tree about a week ago , the oranges are edible but really sour, regardless i want to grow one anyway. i heard from somewhere you have to germinate a male and female within a certain vacinity of each other or somthing. i tried germinating seeds in a moist paper towel before but they didnt sprout the just got moldy, those seeds come from an orange in my refrigerator though so maybe that had somthing to do with them not germinating... if anyone can help please do. if this is posted in the wrong forum please feel free to move it.

You have to dry most seeds before germinating them... I think

You may want to look into getting a live tree instead of sprouting from seed, but if that is what you want to do, cool...
Also, I have seen some mini orange trees when I was a little kid, I dont have any info on them but the were really cool. Fruits about an inch thick, smaller than a tangerine. Now those I would really like to grow...
