Myc or cobweb?
    #1317981 - 02/18/03 11:07 PM (21 years, 6 months ago)

I've never had cobweb before but this looks suspicious to me

A couple of jars are fully colonized, they still look dry and fuzzy like above

Yes, particularly the second picture, a classic.

hmmm, save the jars ? It's worthless at that point. Well if you don't have any spores then you have to get more if that's what you're asking.

I still have the print from which the cobweb syringes came out, two different syringes 6 cobweb jars, I never had this before so I consider the print as contamination source.

What I wanted to know is if there was any trick to obtain healthy mycelium from those spores, it's a big print it feels bad to trow it away... but it did not form any mycelium in the jars, only cobweb, so I guess agar tricks and h2o2 could not help.

Anyway, no reason to panic, I have plenty of spores of other strains to play with

you could grow til they fruit (not eating the fruits of course), then take a print and start a new batch of jars from that print that would be cobweb free if you were careful. Seems to me like it'd be easier to get new spores.
