Tyvek is about the biggest new thing in cultivation in years, it definately changed the way I grow, But I was just wondering, if someone was to see the envelopes over my jars, do you think I would catch another charge for some sort of federal mail violation?

Read what the envelope says about it. It's right there printed on the back.
Plus, it's just not the best choice even as tyvek goes.

I think the manufacturing charge should be a bigger concern.

If you were to get busted for growing mushrooms, I would think that they wouldn't even bother to look at the envelopes, as the manufacturing charge would be big enough as it is.

I dunno, Foo. Postal Inspectors were jack-booted thugs before the DEA even existed.
Still, if you don't steal substandard filter material, it's not an issue.

well, federal charges trump state charges anywhere you go, so I'm afraid they wouldn't just drop it, but use that to make the whole thing a Federal crime, and send me to federal prison

Sure. One count per jar or envelope, if you had a crafty prosecutor.
Again, it's not very good tyvek, and tyvek doesn't make the best lids (imo). Stealing useless crap that carries federal charges is just stupid.
Edit- for mailing things, the stuff kicks ass!

Idk, I use one layer and chenge the tyvek everytime and it has been working great. One envelope makes hundreds of 1x1 squares that I scotch tape on. My success rate has been over 80% this way, and it wasn't much better with PF cakes, so the 20% that fail are prob. my own fault and not that of the tyvek

With Tyvek scraps being free at almost any construction site. Cheap bulk Tyvek for sale on Ebay (for tent footprint/tarp).
Seems kind of wasteful to chop up a perfectly good envelope.
And ultimately. If it feels wrong, Isn't that answer enough?

If you're that uneducated, why don't you take that shit to the politics forum where you'll be in good company. The postal service is NOT ran by the government, but they're under a mandate from Congress to deliver mail six days a week in an era where nearly all mail is done electronically by email and text messaging, bills are paid online, etc., yet they still have to keep post offices open and deliver to your damn house every day, by law. Their employees are not overpaid either. Anyone who thinks that must be a broke dick with zero education.
The auto companies are facing competition from overseas manufacturers who do not allow US made cars into their markets to 'protect' their domestic auto industry. Thus, our US auto companies lose market share due to unfair trade practices by those who sell their product in the US for less than they sell them in their own countries, in order to drive our manufacturers out of business. If you think auto workers are over paid, it either means you are underpaid, or under educated.
Now, no more of that anti-American crap in cultivation. RR

No for your information I have a little bit of that education and my girlfriend 'who barely made it through high school' works for USPS makes $27.35hr gets to set her own hours and take an ass load of vacation and simply sets at a computer and corrects misspelled addresses. No our auto companies lose their asses because there ran by Unions and don't get me started on them because I have work for an Auto Union for more then 15 years. By the way I'm not Anti-American, I'm anti sleazy fucking business people telling commen people if you talk shit about rich people your un-american...

Forget mail envolope tyvek. As metioned several times above, it is a sub par filter material.
Try going to a painters supply store or tool outlet supplier and look for painters cover all tyvek. This tyvek is a cloth tyvek and far superior than envpolope tyvek.
You will need to replace the tyvek filter material every 2 times through the PC. Intense heat from the PC closes the pores of the microtape together. Adhere tyvek to your lids with micropore tape doubled up. Using micropore tape to adhere your tyvek to you lids makes it convenient to replace your tyvek every other run through the PC.
p.s.~ @ All, please take the butthertz to OTD, they could use some entertainment over there. K?

Synthetic filter disks are infinitely reusable. For those of you doing grain jars, I can't recommend them enough. I have many that are over a decade old with thousands of uses, and still work perfectly. RR

Damnit!
I meant to mention synthetic filter disks in my previous poast.....
This is 100% absolute correct!!! Synthetic filter disks over tyvek for the win on grain jars. As mentioned above synthetic filter disks last as long, if not longer, than you do.
Have over 200 hundred quarter sized synthetic filter disks. No longer have contaminated grain jars due to contaminate mold spores directly landing on the substrate,. If grains become contaminated at any point, know the culture used (LC) was infected/contaminated.
With agar, I know if the inoculate I'm using is contaminated or not.
