Colorado accent?

I have heard that they hire newscasters from Colorado a lot because the Colorado Accent is very non specific, like a neutral sort of accent if you will.
I don't know that I notice a Colorado accent. I have heard other people remark that it exists, but I can only tell a few things that might indicate a Colorado accent
People sware it exists though
has anyone ever noticed it? I know that most of the time when I go places, for example Canada, the vast majority of the people don't have stereotyped accent, but this lady had an accent in Canada that was obvious but I dont remember that her husband did (at a bed and breakfast we stayed) She said "aboot" and what not, like you would expect.
People in England, if they remarked where they thought i was from, based on my voice, was Canada. Not too many people guessed but it was 100% Canada as a guess. Go figure

Well the midwest ,possibly colorado, is supposed to be the most accent neutral regions in the country. So this would make sense.

People are always shocked when I tell them I've lived in Virginia my whole life.
One of my friends grew up in Cambridge UK for the first 12 or 13 years of his life yet he barely a trace of a British accent, yet is still a British citizen. Strangest thing ever. His mom however has a HILARIOUS british accent. Like shockingly hilarious, almost like a parody.

i have no idea what a colorado accent sounds like. this reminds me of when i was younger a teacher commented on my "distinctly oregonian accent". to this day i have no idea what an oregonian accent is, and if i have an accent its probably not an oregonian one anyway.

People have remarked on shit I say from time to time as having a weird accent, but it's all stuff I've picked up from other people who have moved to CO because it's so much better than where they're from (HA!). There's a twang in certain parts of CO, but most of CO is pretty accent-neutral. Kinda weird how that worked out.

I don't think I have an accent, and I live in British Columbia.
Do people with accents think in an accent?

Can anyone tell me what a Washington accent sounds like to people?
I mean I feel like I probably have one but I obviously can't tell.

I'm from the PNW... everyone on the west coast seems to have a fairly neutral accent... When I was in England the girls totally digged my 'american' accent I just don't know what it sounds like really... Normal to me I guess

Yeah. I'm glad I don't have a fucking stupid New York accent or something. God I hate those.
Or a Boston accent. ick.
Basically fuck the East Coast for accents

saying mmmkay is not an accent, it'd be part of a dialect if anything, and that's not what you're talking about with this post
and yes, the central/mid-west areas of the US are considered neutral areas

people do say "warsh" for wash though, that shit pisses me off. spell wash you fuck

Nahhh the northeastern accent is smooth and sophisticated. All you people from the PNW talk like goats.

I lived in Colorado for a few years. I do think there's a detectable accent--but it's not as overt as Southern, Northeast, or NorthDakota-dontchaknow.
But I can pick out distinctions in the way Californicators say things when I hear them.
I think every region has characteristic pronunciations--but it's true that the Midwest seems to be the closest to "proper" as American English gets.

I had a high school teacher that used to say "windur" for window. It was all I could do to keep from strangling the bastard every time he said it!

I'm not talking about upper class accents.
Low class city dwellers are the ones with horrible avcents. You really think the Boston accent is smooth and sophisticated?
I'd rather talk like a goat than some guido from New Jersey

lol, I was being facetious. I'm from the South but live in NJ. The accents sound so harsh to me up here. There is something odd that I like about them though.
