i bought a model car

yeeeaAh... that's right. I just bought myself a 1:25 scale 1949 Mercury.

With paint and glue and whatnot I ended up spending $28 that I really shoulda held on to, but that's not as bad as the time I spent over $100 on my custom Impala lowrider. That baby was sweet though. Metallic green paint that faded to a darker green towards the bottom... custom wire rims (two-tone silver and gold) and a little hydraulic kit.

BUT ANYWAY... yeah, my '49 Mercury is going to be that good ol' classic flat black with some long custom flames going down the side. Hopefully it will turn out nice, but I have shakey hands.

I'll post pictures of it when I'm done.

I absolutely despise model cars. lol

My friend used to do the nicest jobs, so I tried one once. I have zero patience and attention to detail on such things, and decided that building a model car is the biggest waste of time ever.

But that's just because I'm st00pid. I hope yours turns out.

When you told me you were thinking about getting a car, the other day, I was imagining something a little bigger...

You ever build plastic models before? Make sure you go very light on the glue when you put parts together. Testors model glue melts the plastic if you use too much. Make sure you check the fit on the pieces before you try to glue them together, or you will have a big mess on your hands.

well damn it! i just put a light wash of thinner with a tint of dark on my chrome valve cover to give them a little detail. now you can clearly read "weiand" on them, but the fuckers are upside-down!

/me glues the hood to the body so that no-one can see the engine
