How can you tell if your substrate is too dry?

A Dog's brothers sisters cat i know has about 20 1/2 pints going right now, half creeper, half GoldenTeacher. He told me Its been about 6 days and only about 5 of them have some dime sized mycellium spots on them?

How can i tell if the substrate mix (BRF) is too dry?

He prolly just has to wait more time huh? Hes just gettin worried i think.

Thank you.

Does anyone have any pics of what "pulling away" looks like? I cant really tell is its pulling away, i know that may seem kinda dumb, but i just cant tell if its pulling away or what because of the glass.

This is really bad cuz it was thought 2 be done and tossed into the pile of spent poo boxes that were going outside this spring.
Anyway it got wet from a pipe leak and fruited again.

2 the point see how the block of poo looks like the sides of the tank ?
(note this poo block has been shaken and somewhat busted up)
When it first starts to happen you will see a small gap between the poo and tank wall.
I'm not sure if that's clear enough?
After a few flushes u can expect a gap just fill it with casing

So when it pulls away, it really pulls away huh? Cause it looks like there is still stuff touching the sides of the glass, i think he just needs to give it more time.

Thank you.

Yeah when it pulls away it actually pulls away.

The reason that poo is still touching the sides is because it was moved around and wasn't taken care of because it had dried out and fruited 3 -4 flushes.
It just happened to get wet and has fruited 2 more times sence it was tossed out of the system.
