Worried about USPS package

Hi, I was the moron who posted a few days back asking if it would be ok to order 2 pounds of MHRB. Despite my paranoia I went ahead and did it anyways.
They left a notice at my door for me to come pick it up at the post office. Am I boned?
Should I just not pick it up? I'm really REALLY scared.

Probably not going to....
Anyone else agree that I should just leave it there?

MHRB is still legal, right?
Maybe they thought it was something valuable due to the weight and didn't want to leave it at your door, or it wouldn't fit in the mailbox or something.
You could always go to the post office and see what's going on. If it looks like the package has been opened/inspected, or if something else seems weird, just leave.

So that's one for pick it up, one for leave it. What you say in that post does kinda make sense though.
I'd appreciate some more input from other people. Thanks

DMT isn't, and legally MHRB is DMT
This is a tough call, but I would err on the side of safety and do nothing personally.
Do you have any context as to the normalcy of them not delivering the package but rather leaving a note? Does it make sense tat this would be done, or do you not have much experience with package delivery to that location?

I ordered some bark there once, and they left it at the door that time.

I think I might go pick it up.
Mainly because I just don't care anymore. My life is shit anyways.
Maybe some time in jail will do me some good.
More input will still be appreciated.

pick it up.
You think they have a cop sitting in the post office 8 hours a day for the next week waiting for you? If they were going to arrest you for the package they would come back to deliver in person, and then arrest you on the spot.

I'm aware I'm probably going to get my ass thrown in jail, but meh....
I think I deserve it at this point. I've never committed crimes or anything (aside from the obvious things we all do here) but I think I kind of deserve it for the way I treat people.
I'm almost certain I'm going to be arrested :/

Yeah you're probably right. That makes me feel a little better. Going to pick it up either way. lol.
Prison will give me some time to get all big and buff anyways. Ha Ha!

Yeah yeah I know. Jail is better than what I was going to do. You gotta trust me on that one.
Besides.... Everything I've read leads me to believe I'll be fine to go pick it up. People are right, cops aren't going to be waiting at the post office for me....
And on the off chance I go and cops pick me up, I can just remain silent. I mean, why is it illegal for me to make dye out of it anyways? I'm a huge hippy and naturalist, and they'll see that if they so happen to bust down my door.
I don't grow or do any drugs anyways.

ALRIGHT, NOW I think I'm not going to pick it up.
Checked the tracking a couple hours ago and of course it tells me the notice was left at the door. I just checked again, and now there's two things that say a notice was left...
Notice Left, September 07, 2010, 6:38 pm, Notice Left, September 07, 2010, 5:14 pm,
I'm really confused.
ADVICE ANYONE??
Reading says cops won't leave notices. Paranoia says the police will do whatever they want. What do I do?

It's not a controlled substance - go pick it up.
Mescaline can be extracted from San Pedro cacti and that is legal, Buffalo toads (or whatever) contain active DMT and those are legal as well if not prepared for consumption, and even the very seeds to grow illegal mushrooms (spores) are largely legal in the U.S. for research.
The only way I would be worried at all, is if I ordered a bunch of stuff online as well (Naptha, Lye) to do extractions, and they held those packages as well.
If it were my MHRB, I would go pick it up - it's every hippies right to make some perfectly legal purple dye for their smelly tie-dye shirts.

I agree with anon #4 and others who said pick it up. Its not a controlled substance, you know what to say if they ask what you are doing with it, right? Don't be a pussy, just pick it up. Cops love to see us living in fear. No one will arrest you and you can ask why it wasn't just left for you. Bring the notice with you and act innocent. The bored clerk will hand it over and that will be the end of it. If they ask what's in it, say rootbark, if they ask what it's for, give a legal reason or tell them it's none of their business. I would do the latter. Examine the package closely to see if it was opened or not. Ask the sender if a sig was required and if so, why?

Pick it up. like the other person said, they don't have cops waiting at the post office. They would have arrested you shortly after delivering it. Its not illegal. When you get to the post office you should punch the lady in the face who gives you package, that way you can go to jail like you wanted AND get your package.

It is a schedule I controlled substance. Legally it is defined as DMT.

Nope, both are legally defined as mesclaine. Peyote is different in that it is in itself a controlled substance regardless of whether it has mescaline or not. The cacti's you mention are mescaline, not a controlled substance in-and-of themselves by virtue of their species. This is the difference.

It seems you may be confusing what the definition of a particular criminal act is with what is legal. The toads are DMT per your facts- preperation doesn't have any affect on the classification of the substance into the various schedules or whether it is or is not such a substance. The analogue act has provisions which depend on such things as intent to consume et cet in defining the schedule of the substance, perhaps this is what your thinking of.
Additionally, it seems you may be confusing prosecutorial discreation and the factors usually present in convictions/.indictments with what the law is and what the scheduling of things are.
Remember: there is far more than one statute that they can nail you with, and even if a particular conduct is not a criminal offense undera aprticular statute, this is far from being 'legal'.
As for the people advising him to explain the use of this product to the clerk, this is not wise. You should not provide them with evidence. If their asking that means their suspicious and your better off saying nothing. Justifying it establishes your knowledge of the subject and essentially admits your intent to possess and ship it. Where that is itself a crime as it is in many drug cases, that's the case- your innocent intentions (though this is obviously false) notwithstanding.
