Homecoming - Yellowing, eaten up Argyrea nervosa (HBWR)

I came home after 3 weeks of absence. Someone cared for my plants, but something must have gone wrong, because there are some problems. I am making separate threads to keep the subject lines and tags in order. I hope it is OK with the local policy.
This post is about my Argyrea (Argyreia) nervosa - 2 strains. Previous story: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/12958314#12958314
Before:

After:

As you can see, I found them all eaten up - probably by slugs in association with these ugly critters.

What worries me more than the nibbling, however, is that there are many new yellow leaves every day. Is it normal? I'm cutting them off as they get yellow. Is there something else I should do?

Looks like the vine has used up the nutrients in the potting mix, after all they are aggressive growers so I imagine they chew through the nutrients pretty fast. Maybe give a diluted liquid feed and see if it greens up.
As for the grasshopper:

A chilli/garlic spray could deter them from munching the leaves until you harvest. Also if you get out early in the morning they are easy to catch and dispose of as they're less active at this time of day.

I hadn't thought about feeding the plant! I'm very stingy with nutrients; usually none are needed since the soil here is quite rich in most "normal" nutrients. Since these baby woodroses are heavy feeders, I'll give'em some
Grasshoppers: I knew about garlic but hadn't thought of it: I've only used it for other, smaller pests. I'll give it a try (avoiding aggressive chemicals until they are really needed).
As for "dealing" with these beasts personally, I hope my allies will help. Here's a very fresh shot of one of them

A moderate amount of feeding didn't help much I hope spring may save them, but I doubt it...

Should I ditch the whole lot?
