Yes, and I am YOUR worst nightmare, a conservative who votes... Republican

I think that everyone who has something negative to say about their own system should either be registered to vote, or be so by the time they can vote and there is an election.

It doesn't surprise me that as a conservative, you vote. That's why the Republican party can compete with the Democrats. Almost all Republicans and other conservatives vote, whereas there is a large section of society that tends to favor liberal policies but doesn't really bother voting. If everyone voted the Republicans wouldn't stand a chance.

Funny thing, most conservatives see it the other way. Democrats wouldn't stand a chance.

****Almost all Republicans and other conservatives vote, ****

that's a broad generalization....

that's just plain redicilous...if all the people voted liberals would be in the minority.

oh, i forgot. Yes i vote, i don't miss the primaries or the official election every 2 years. I'm not really interested in the school board-esque election where every politician is useless. hence my stand for private schools both religious and non.

Allow me explain my reasoning:

The 18-26 year old age group(my age group) is the least likely to vote. But of those that do vote, they seem to lean more towards liberalism.

Also, African-Americans, as a group, generally don't vote nearly as much as White people. And in case you didn't know, black Republicans are few and far between. Same thing with Hispanics(with the exception of Cubans).

And as we saw in the last mid-term election, where very few people got out to vote, the Republicans had a major victory.

****where very few people got out to vote, the Republicans had a major victory. ****

If i recall correctly, more people voted in this mid-term election than those of the past (on average)(normally it's like 20-30%). Couldn't it be that people are voting more for Republicans than Democrates? I know people like to think that if their friends all vote a certain way that's how society is and to be honest that never really flies. We took votes in college about who would win between Perot, Bush and Clinton and Perot was #1, followed by George H.W. Bush, and in distant third was Klinton himself. The poll of about 1000 or so likely voters didn't even come close to what really happened.

I will admit that the Republican victory in the last mid-term election probably had something to do with Bush's approval rating after 9/11.

For all the non-voting leftists (blacks, hispanics, whatever) you have non-voting conservatives, such as back-woods hicks and the like. Though I really have no idea what electiosn would be like if EVERYONE voted, just pointing out that there are people who don't vote on all sides.
