well, I would have to say that you might be overdoing it a little bit. There's certainly nothing wrong with that, but its a lot of extra work. When I innoculated mine, I cleaned a counter in the kitchen to work on with a disinfectant spray. I closed the window to avoid drafts. All I did was to make sure that my needle never touched anything other than its sterile cover and the inside of my jars. I didn't sterilize the end of my needle in between jars, and I didn't use an oven. You don't need rubber gloves unless you are going to be putting your hands where they shouldn't be, like on the needle. My jars are almost fully colonized, and there are no signs of contamination in any of them.

I think Im the one your referring to about the oven tech killing my spores. Actually, everything turned out alright. They were just slow colonizers to begin with plus I had them in a pretty cool environment.
The oven tek worked well actually.

Make sure that your can read the temperature of the jars while incubating. You don't want them to get too hot, which they easily could underneath a heating blanket.
