Duct tape bad?

Is duct tape not good to use for the jars? something about melted tape glue....

You should use masking tape, even the cheap stuff still made it through the pressure cooking. Also, like surgical tape works too, anything with small pores.

I've always used duct tape and then just removed the tape and flipped the jars when they are about 75 percent colonized.

My pet chimp bubbles has masking tape on his holes and when his jars were about 75% done he removed the tape from one hole. Should he remove tape from all holes?

The mycelium grows better when there is air exchange and a reduction of CO2.

CO2 sinks to the bottom of the jar, so it is harder for mycelium to colonize that part. By flipping the jars and removing the tape, you allow the CO2 to leave the jar.

Actually CO2 is beneficial for the mycelium growth at that stage.
The real reason for stalled jars is the lack of oxigene in most cases.
