Is it easy to get a manual labor job? 1

I am sick of going through all the crap to get a job in my professional career, only to get turned down again and again. I just want some kind of job, fast. Preferably not something horrible, like castrating goats, but moving stuff in and out of trucks would be fine...how do I get a job like that?

go apply at ups or fedex. The job sucks, but they are usually hiring.

Just go online to UPS or fedex and apply. Or walk up to construction sites and ask how you get a job with them.

UPS or fedex would be nice, but I applied to both of them during the christmas rush and they didn't even call back.

I've been doing warehouse work for five years but haven't had a job in 14-15 months.

So apply again. Maybe they'll want you now. Seems like turnover is fairly high there.
If you actually want a job, then keep applying. Take a drive where ever you live, write down all of the places that you think may hire unskilled workers, and then go online and apply at every one of those businesses. Eventually you will get a job if you want one.

When they pour cement on construction jobs, they will hire anyone off the street to work on it. Also, look for roofing jobs. You'll get sticky and black, but there isn't much competition. Make an effort to learn and speak ebonics, too. Also, vote Republican to defeat the socialists that have caused your unemployment.

Type in Employment agencies and your zip code on Google. Apply and they will have you a job the next day. Whats sucks about it is not the lifting its only 15-20lbs, that there are no benefits, the fact that you will never get hired, its not that the same job paid $15/hr 5 years ago, its not that everyone is Hispanic, its not that you will never be able to drive a fork-lift, its not that they will fire you whenever they have a chance, its not that the job requires no intellectual abilities, and its not that the job is enduring. Its the temperature of the warehouse is either -15°, 40°, or 80° and the lower back pain that goes along with the job is seems self-injuring overtime.
There are a lot of these jobs out there though, where I am anyway there are full-time warehouse jobs everywhere.

Yeah, my lower back ain't so great...temperature, I can definitely deal with. Maybe I will just sit on my ass and save my back. Shit, I need a job though. I guess I can work until the first sign of injury.

I'm like a magnet for these jobs...I pick them up pretty often on Craigslist, or on local (esp. university) eclassifieds and such. I like working outside and getting a decent workout. Actually my favorite job I've had was working as a tree climber/arborist assistant, pruning and removing big trees. I'd like to diversify away from this sort of work though because it can be brutal on the back

I've worked manual labor for almost 4 years now, doing various shit. Working on fishing and crab boats, digging clams, seafood processing, etc.
It will age your body very quickly, some people are not built for it. I'm already in the early stages of arthritis and have some decent carpal tunnel going.
Its liberating to work manual labor in ways, but if you have the brain capacity try to use that for money instead. I plan to rest my body soon enough.
