Alcohol Withdrawal?

I've been feeling weird lately and I've been trying to figure out what it is, but I think I know now. Progressively all week I've been feeling increasing symptoms of restlessness, anxiety, fatigue, depression, insomnia, agitation, and nausea. I could not figure out a cause, I was thinking there was something in the water for a little bit there.
But then it hit me. For the past couple months, I've been drinking almost every day, usually whiskey and usually about 5 shots worth, sometimes more sometimes less. Not extremely heavy drinking but almost every day. This week, I slowed down. I bought a six pack on Monday but only drank 5 of them and that was between Monday and Wednesday, I think I also had a whiskey drink with about 3 shots in it on Tuesday. Nothing to drink since Wednesday, and I only had one beer then. But I was already feeling weird.
I dunno, all of the symptoms definitely fit but does that seem like enough drinking to cause withdrawal? 5 shots a day doesn't seem like that much to me because I know some hardcore drinkers...but then again they're probably future raging alcoholics. I've always thought of alcohol withdrawal as like DTs and shit, but maybe this is just a mild form.
Any help or advice? Possible alternate causes?

everyone's different, and obvious symptoms of developing physical dependence on alcohol have finally started to creep up on me after 3-4 years of abuse. after drinking now i do get noticeably shaky and i have this prominent feeling that i can best describe as my brain cells hurting.. i also get very mild dt's the next day or so after drinking.. that's why gave it up heh

Yes, you drink enough that you could feel some sort of withdrawal if you slow down or quit. A couple months is definitely enough time for your body to get used to having that alcohol every day.
5 shots every day is a lot. You can always find someone who drinks more than you and someone worse off than you, so I don't think it is always a good idea to compare yourself to others.
Anyway, hope you feel better soon!

I'm kind of in the same boat. It seems as I've grown older I've become more sensitive to alcohol dependence. I used to be able to drink heavy friday and saturday for months on end and be fine, sometimes even drinking for weeks in a row with no problems at all. Now I could not drink for two months, get bombed and be shaky and anxious the next day.
To the OP: the only way to know for sure is to drink again and see if it goes away, but I wouldn't encourage that. It does seem weird to me that you would have symptoms just from slowing down, instead of stopping altogether, but I guess it kind of makes sense now that I think about it.

It's not worthless to me. Just for a little update, it got too hard to stay off drinking so I started up again a couple days after the original post. I know its something I should address and it won't get any easier. But it just never seems like a good time and nobody finds my drinking problematic, not my parents, not my fiancee, certainly not my friends. Everywhere I go people want me to drink. And I feel good when I do and bad when I don't - even though I don't always like being drunk, I can't stand not drinking. And in typing that I feel like an alcoholic. I know I'm not yet but I feel like what I am doing is how I could become one.

Alcohol can create very severe physical withdrawal after prolonged usage.
