I take it for most of its properties, obviously not childhood leukemia. 1 or 2 500mg capsules a day, when I remember...

It's used in curry and a few other dishes. I take it in caps for it's medicinal properties. Turmeric is very good for you.

Tumeric is a natural anti-inflammitory and cancer preventative. I take caps a couple times a week.

From what I understand the main active ingredient, curcumin, is mainly fat soluble. So to get best results, cook it into something that has a bit of fat in it.

Tumeric has alot to offer like mentioned above. It is in the ginger family. Its also good topically for cuts, bruises, sores ect. Its a popular spice used in mediterranean and asian dishes. Though it was probally revered mostly for its medicinal properties. You can find it as a spice or encapsulated or in supplements.
I would def recommend the whole fresh bulb, Most health stores will carry it in the produce section. Otherwise you can buy it in powder form as a spice. Much more effective and cheaper.
It has a strong yellow color that will stain pretty much anything, including your hands.
I like to add tumeric to my smoothies, its also good in pretty much any spiced dish.
I love tumeric!
