Go to a different doctor, shouldn't the doctor have done a test or something. One time I went to a doctor and said I havn't slept for about 5 days, he told me to get some exercise. That fucking prick was stupid ... *edited*

Scar tissue can occur anwhere within the body where there has been damage. If you've had it for years and it hasn't changed then it is most likely something harmless. If you are seriously worried though, be more assertive with your Doc. Tell him you would like a second opinion and/or a biopsy. No-one knows more than you if you are healthy or not.

Yeah, scar tissue is just collagen (a type of protein) for the most part, so you can have it anywhere ? in, or on, your body.
If it is sensitive, it may have some local inflammation, or a small abscess may have developed nearby. If you are really concerned, you should see a doctor about it.

where is it? my sister used to have some wierd bumb by her wrist. It would get bigger and start hurting. She would always just smash it against the wall or a desk untill it broke and went away. She said when she hit it it hurt like a bitch, but at least it remedied it for a while.

i like terz' advice...smash it and itll go away...lol
its in between my hit and my rib cage... its gotten larger and its painful when bumped..
i had a birthmark removed on my inner bicep, leaving a 6 inch scar+the scars left from about 75-100 staples... becuz the docs said it could be cancer... it too started growing and it hurt like a bitch at the slightest scratch...

If you had a birthmark growing it ought to be clear wether it was a tumor or not. Testing before/after removal is standard practice, at least in NL where I live. If it was pigmented (I'm assuming you're white) it might have been melanoma which is bad news, as this may spread. But you really should've been told wether it was benign, malignant or whatever it was, and it should be documented. Should it have been malignant be extra cautious, but in no case take any risks & get biopsied or get it removed.
It might be a cyst. I have several of 'em & they're confirmed as harmless. But every once in a while one starts to swell & hurt. Well: out comes a load of puss & it's OK again, so several docs assured me.
But: take NO CHANCES! My mom got colon cancer about a year ago & underwent surgery for it (5in removed). Was it gone? "That's as sure as we can guarantee!" Yeah, well.. Now they've discovered they were over-optimistic and practically her whole colon has to go. Extremely dangerous, might lose her
Take NO CHANCES and feel free to get a second opinion. But do it FAST! No cure, but a thing you can do right now is to get on vitamins and mins (the strong kind) and take 1 gram of vitamin C for every 10kg/22lbs of bodyweight daily divided into 3 or 4 doses. Should you get the runs, back it off abit. Take the C until certain it isn't cancerous or until it has been treated. That C inhibits growths in alot (some say most) of cases, thus buying time, and rarer the growth shrinks.
But TAKE ACTION TODAY!!! Think positive, but don't dodge the doctors! Hope to have helped.

Sounds like a cyst to me. (big pimple) As a rule, the painful ones are not cancer.

I'm not trying to scare you or anything, but I had somthing similar diagnosed as sinovial sarcoma. It was on the back of my hand for several years before the pain of hitting it on things became unbearable, and I'm talking the worst pain I've ever felt. Any little tap to the lump would make me grasp it for a good 5 minutes before I could resume what I was previously doing.
I got it checked out by a few doctors and none of them thought it was anyting serious, one even wanted to shoot it full of steroids. It was only after I got the thing removed and they tested it in the lab that they found it was malignant.
Mine started about bb sized and grew to about the size of a pea before it was removed. I doubt this is what you have as it is extremely rare, but you never know.

Puscle, mine was extremely painful and it was also malignant. There are always exeptions to the rule.
