Ok, I have a small question and and very open to suggestion. AFOAF has some Ecuadorian strain p. cubensis that has grown somewhat in a b-rice substrate. However, he forgot to cover the lids with tinfoil when he boiled them and a huge amount of water was lost. The cake is completely dry but shows no contamination, but the growth has stopped. What would you suggest he do to save the cakes, as they are the last of his EQ and he really need them for future spore prints.

Here is what I do when this happens....
Put a water into a glass container and nuke it for 8 minutes. After it is finished quickly suck up some in a syringe and inject it into the sink. Then suck up more and store your syringe somewhere and let the water cool. Now inject it into your substrate after sterilizing the needle and put the needle just below the surface. Now inject how much water you feel is necessary.
Good luck.

Months you think? They've been without water for like 2 months maybe. They don't look like they're dying, just dormant.

Dude... please icksnay on the yellow font color. It's hard as hell to read (I had to highlight the text in order to read your posts) and quite annoying.
Don't mean to sound anal, but generally it's a good idea to make it as easy as possible for people to read your posts if you want them to actually be read
