But for real, there is always a way to know. Try using chrome's privacy mode if you're really worried about it.

If there's a warrant, they can get records from your Internet service. Nothing you do at your end can save you from that. So unless you are expecting to have the computer seized in a warantless search, deleting from your machine isn't doing anything useful.
If you have other people in the house, that's a different story...

He can't tell anything without digging in deep. Not like he'd care, unless it's kiddie porn or something.
It's not, is it?

Use firefox and when you browse something you don't want known use the "start private browsing feature"(the new IE has this option also). Also if you are on a good high speed connection turn your cache to 0 so less/none is saved(could not find this options just now?). Use "form history control" which is a firefox plugin to be able to easily delete stuff that you don't want saved such as login names addresses and anything else that might be saved when filling out a form. It is good if you want some things saved say for paying bills and shit but not for say dirty stinky gross sex sites.
Kind of drunk right now... best I can think of.

Don't explain anything to anybody, nobody is going to ask or care.

yea she's cool. I wont bring anything up. Today i came in stoned and she mentioned posting an article about how pot users contribute to the mexican drug cartel violence. She knows. She used to be a cop. But she also used to be an alcoholic and drug user. Maybe i should have corrected her and told her that everyone who supports marijuana prohibition is contributing to them by creating large profit margins for those who smuggle it.

When you delete the history, it doesn´t actually overwrite the sectors on the drive. The information is still there, it just is not linked. Reading the drive sector by sector will show the sites you visited until that sector is overwritten, which could be a very long time.
You should use an ecrrypted filesystem such as truecrypt if you are worried about it.
