What could it be?

I've been having this health problem lately. It's a little bit hard to discribe, but basically it feels like my heart is beating extremely fast, but when I check my pulse, my heart isn't beating fast. I feel like I need to call 911 but never do and things just calm down and I'm fine.
I'm 5' 11", 160 pounds, 26 years old, never been diagnosed wirh a heart problem.
I have been eating a lot of beef jerky lately and I know that is high in protien and sodium. This problem seems to happen more often after I eat candy?
Diabetes?

It sounds more like a panic attack maybe due to some anxiety disorder. The fact that it is so transient makes it more plausible.
People who have intermittent heart issues often have a problem dealing with stress. The doctor put my mom on benzos to take as needed for that. You might end up having to do the same.
Are you generally intolerant to stimulants or weed?

I used to smoke weed without any problems but I quit because it caused what happened above when I smoked it.

What if you just need to eat some reishi for a few weeks and spiff your system back up? Reishi drops blood sugar, so if you are a little hyperglycemic it would affect that, but the general drag of life these days can stick to us a little and periodic "extra goodies" can make a difference. It could be stress as well, but your reference to candy as a possible trigger could mean that your system is a little bogged down as much as it could actual diabetes. At your weight and age metabolic anomalies can happen that seem the same - drink much soda pop?

I very rarely drink soda pop. I eat healthy and exercise. I do drink beer though.

Beef jerky almost always has msg in it, monosodium glutamate. Monosodium glutamate can speed up the heart rate and can be dangerous to people.
Another thing is is if youve ever done psychiatric drugs before maybe they threw your body off balance.
Those are two possibilities I can think of off the top of my head. Weed can speedup the heart too.
If your worried about your heart be careful with what you do.

I have a similar thing.
Honestly i think/know it was induced by a 'traumatic'/'hilarious' experience (depending on whose perspective you take)
This happened several years ago but i still get the heart things.
Do you drink much coffee/smoke/vomit often? they contribute
You may have Arithmea which means your heart sometimes doesn't beat regularly this is not 'fatal' but still worth checkin out
It is probably not that serious tho, in my utterly unprofessional opinion
