BIG LAGHING JYM
    #1311705 - 02/16/03 11:10 AM (21 years, 1 month ago)

Now I have heard of reports of the "big laghing jym" that originates in japan. I have heard this is a huge shroom and it gives a great trip. Now why cant I find spores for this mushroom anywhere? Is it because you cultivate it with success or is it that no one has collected spores from it and hasn't done any research on it? Whats the deal with this shroom?

I was just wondering for microscopic research

Hey there, the big laughing mushroom, or big laughing gym is a mushroom which is only said to have hallucinogenic properties in certian areas, like you said Japan, Eastern US, and some other places.

The species name is: Gymnopilus spectabilis. They are a pretty widely distributed mushroom, which favor conifers and hardwoods.

You can search the mushroom hunting forum for this mushroom... Im not really sure if it has been cultivated. I've heard of gymnopilus aeruginosus being cultivated, which is a hallucinogenic cousin of the spectabilis.... both bruise blue when handled.

You could prolly cultivate them easily after the initial grainspawn step, cause all you need is some hard wood chips.
