Thanks for the props
I've thought about the bullshit that gets said in here too, and the best thing I could imagine is a system where if somebody claims something is true, gets called on it, and can't back his position, that he gets a warning, and next time a forum ban- or something like that.
The problem I have is not people speculating or spreading rumors, its people declaring rumors as facts- "They can't charge you if the landlord calls them in without a warrant" vs "I thought the landlord can't enter without notice- so wouldn't the evidence be inadmissible?" or something.
I don't know though, seems like it'd be tough to do and pretty much unworkable. It just seems people should be a lot more careful in what they say given how serious an effect wrong information can have when dealing with the law.
Basically something like that would just get persistent douchbags from misinforming people or whatever, which is I guess all you can really do. We could call it the "Stonehenge" rule : )

I think its working pretty well the way it is - When people say something wrong someone calls them on it.
I sometimes see people post misinformation but its usually noobs and they only do it once. I would ban someone if they kept posting misinformation but I have never seen that happen.

Yeah, I don't see anything that could really be done except for incorrigible problems- and I don't think he's been posting much since you became mod (though I was away for a year so I don't know).
I'm just surprised when people post things as fact and certainty. Seems like the more informed the poster is the more tentative their conclusions are

Gorlax said: ahha I knew someone would say i'm crazy lol but no really I totally understood the go halves on a bowl kinda thing, under federal guidelines during an undercover investigation they can't even take as far as a hit without causing all the evidence to be thrown out, but what also fuels my suspicion is the location of a police office literally floors away, and police station a block away. I have no reason to worry I keep my shit 100%, the longboarder was def suspicious, ipod on, 5am saturday night, zooming around us like a shark, hell maybe i was trippin but things that are not normal just bug out on me when i am.
so first red flag about that guy is the ipod while longboarding(let alone the ipod). that guy wont hear a bulldozer dozing bulls. second he is an attention whore for riding longboard around people and making eye contact (lowering his focus on the dangerous task at hand)
...then again he may rip the streets like a serpent
meh.. ill prefer to make fun of him
