I agree with you, neglect is the way to go. I duct tape my mono holes closed 14 days later stuff with polyfill and then open them up when it is time to harvest.

The holes are to reduce the amount of attention you have to give the tubs in the first place which is the point of "set it and forget it" (even though I never took that route).
Alright i hear ya. Im self employed and work from home so i never really considered any of that.
Good info for me to keep in mind if I take a vacation in the middle of a project.

The main reason that was happening was because I didn't have enough casing mix to really cover the surface, so it left a few bare spots which caused some bruising with the extra fae.

Polyfil 
Tried tapes but poly rocks more. I forget who mentioned it but yes with polyfil
you can control the FAE by packing the fil tight/loose.
In winter the RH drops to 0 so i would pack the poly tighter, in summer the
Rh is much higher and therefore pack the poly a lot looser.
Set and Forget The only way.
LED's Lighting: The tub can be put in a closet or disguised as a piece
of furniture.
I don't have the time to check/fan my tubs 6 times a day, i'm lucky if i get
to check them once a day.
Mono's that are set up correctly are perdy much maintenance free.
With the led's fitted i just throw a table cloth over it and it makes a
great side table. To check on them i simply remove the polyfil and peep
threw the hole, only time i vent or water is when i crop.

Nice thread
When you guys spawn / put down your sub, do you do it in open air?
I don't have access to a flow hood, that's why I never tried a mono...
they sure put out!

I work in the kitchen, I do close all the doors and windows then mist the air
with H202 b4 i start.

Now that's what's up. Very similar to my grow... Just surfing to research a good polyfill / micropore tape tek since I'm beginning fruiting tomorrow.
