California Poppies can offer a great deal to a cultivator, dependent uppon what you are looking for. i use the dried seeds as an additive to cigarette tobaco to improve the flavor. you can also make tea from the pods that is purported to, and IME does, produce calming efects. let us not forget also the beauty of the flower, if you go for asthetics.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

When spring comes in my area, California poppies grow wild everywhere. Also, my second guess was gonna be wormwood. If anyone has seen pics of California poppies, they know that the leaves look the same to an extent.

BTW, how long has your wormwood been growing?

Yes californian poppies are supposed to have mild sedative properties. But i dont think the effects are much greater then those Catnip are supposed to have. Maybe an extraction would work I never tried that, anyone?

Opium poppies no doubt. The flowers look like the common oriental poppy (papaver orientale) but oriental poppies have very hairy stems and not so nice and round pods, often they also got some hair on the pods themselves
