Dextrose Cake Injection

hey all,
so ive got a grow journal on another site, and brought up an experimental technique i will be using with positive feedback so far... im prob 2 days away from birthing 8 x .5 pint PF cakes.
The experiment is I will be injecting a 1:10 dextrose:h2o sterilized mixture into the cakes after the third flush. theoretically i think this will feed the cakes for continual flushes...
Any thoughts?
be easy on me its my first shroomery post, and the dextrose was only 4$ on ebay so its not a real loss if this doesnt work as planned.

I've never seen it work. In fact, I've had an offer for the last decade for a free microscope for the first person who can grow a 10 gram or larger hydroponic mushroom using an inert base and chemical nutrients. I'm pretty sure I put that offer in place back when I was a mod over at mycotopia. Mushrooms eat their food and require solid food to fruit. Mycelium will grow on sugar water, but not fruit well, if at all. RR

maybe RR or someone can help me with this
I plan on splitting the cakes in 3 parts for this:
3 for control 3 for 1:10 dextrose:h2o injection 2 for 1:10 dextrose:h2o injection + blood meal
Now I know that blood meal is somewhat frowned upon by RR. RR, could you explain more why blood meal isn't choice for you?
Because from what I know about mycology it needs its carbs (dextrose) and its N (which easily could be from blood meal)
The only thing I see wrong with adding the blood meal to my injections would be adding too much and basically nute burning the organism...
thoughts?

Remember, mushrooms eat their food. They're also not meat eaters, thus blood meal is of little use, even though it contains N. They do eat manure, so you could add a touch of chicken manure. Basically, you need to remember that mycelium is not a plant and doesn't benefit from the same things plants do. RR

Touché.
its strange, i know. but i saw it on one of the posts on here, what about dog food. Im not too happy about the smell of boiling down eukanuba over my stove with some water but i looked at nutrition facts... looks myco friendly.. id think.
heres the eukanuba link with the ingredients of the dog food my lab gets: http://www.petco.com/product/102319/Eukanuba-Labrador-Retriever-Adult-Dog-Food.aspx
scroll down and hit ingredients g & a
btw: proud as hell to have you corresponding on this post RR.

Is it possible to get or make liquid chicken manure? Would the N possibly leach out into a barrel of water the manure is soaking in? Have the manure in a bag that water can penetrate. Think of a tea bag steeping. After a couple weeks or so it should be go to go theoretically speaking. My Source take a gander and let me know.
