at least a couple inches deep. however, it's probably better to for 3-4 inches of depth. as for length and width, i think that's up to the discretion of the cultivator

i'd say instead of 2.5in-3in deep, go for 1.5in deep and wider surface

You can only imagine how big mycelium patches are underground for natural cubensis, It extends deep and far. As long as its not damaged, nutruients and water can travel as far as it needs to through mycelium to reach the fruiting bodies to produce big fruits.
I'm using 3" deep casings in small gladware containers that are 4"x6" wide. If i lose one to contamination it won't be a big deal cause ill have plenty others, and it should produce plenty of flushes with nice big mushies.

im sorry i shoulda been more specific, i mean say that no matter what your casing two pint jars 50/50, A deeper Container compared to a lengthy container wouldnt make much difference in yeild in the end correct? the deeper having just bigger fruits?

Ya I think your correct, but heres the way i look at it, a lengthy container has more surface area for a contam to land on and go to work.
