Suprise

Okay, here is the story
I have inoculated dowels with enoki spawn.
The dowels have been cotaminated by the green mold, but I told myself that I should try to use them outside. Maybe the green mold will die, especially in the middle of winter.
I had a suprise today...
First of all, I removed my heater from the incubator, so the temperature droped. (A few days, maybe a week ago).
There is no light, of course, in the incubator.
Still, I had a suprise this morning.
It appears that the long things growing are growing from the rye.
What could it be? Pins???

This was a picture of the dowels....

Goddamn it!
I have three fully colonized jars that are supposed to pin.
I put them in the fridge the night, and I put them in a cold spot in the house during the day to give them light.
And the one in the incubator pins?!?!?

They are growing.
I think they are tiny little mushrooms.

Sorry for the late reply. Those are pins. I have the same thing on three of my Enoki jars of millet. I I had just left them on a shelf at 74F not expecting much and took a close look the otherday and found pins growing all over the place.
Spores where from Anno and rehydrated and injected via syringe into sterilized millet. I did not expect it to work, just contam, but after a very slow start they seem to be doing well now. I am transfering them to wood chips tommorow. If that works mabe I'll get some pics up.

The problem is, I don't know how I am supposed to get the mushrooms?!
Should I open the jar? Or should I mist? Or what?
The pins stopped growing...

Okay...
In order to get the actual mushrooms, one has to play with the co2 levels in the jars, no?
Should I put the jar in the fruiting chamber then?

could break the jar and fruit them as a cake?

I don't know, i've never had that problem - lol

I'm usually too damn impatient to have primordia in jars, in fact i tend to birth things early =(
