found some interesting little fungi growing from a farm pond in a bail of hay
    #13085920 - 08/22/10 10:36 AM (13 years, 6 months ago)

Habitat:
Found growing from a bail of hay that was put in a pond to control algae.

Gills:
brownish attached
Stem:
lighter brown, gray tint at the bottom
Cap:
lighter brown coming to a darker brown nipple..i think it could be called a nnipple
Spore print color:
in progress

Bruising:
No noticable bruising, slight graying at bottom of the stem

Other information:
Smelled mushroomy, they were growing in clusters of 3 or so. as i was spore printing them i lifted a cap and it looked like it was gonna be jet black. im hoping so.

let me know what you think.
pictures will be up shortly i gotta get my camera card out and upload them.
Thanks to all who comment and give info.
still new at this so anything that doesnt look right or needs improvement let me know.
ill also put up a picture of the bail  found them on.
i looked in the pasture at my grandpas farm and everything i found was dried up and unidentifiable but fungi was very abundant in the pasture gotta get back tomorrow since it just rained.
thanks guys.

Definitely. There's absolutely no other mushrooms fitting that vague description.

How many brownish grey mushrooms with "nipples" do you think there might be? It's completely hopeless with no pictures, in truth. May I suggest next time a little patience and just post the thread when you have the pictures ready?

doesnt look like your bail is doing anything to control the algae, and looks like your musgrooms are pan.foe

Looks like either a Conocybe species or Pan foe.
