Good luck to those who attend protests
    #1308531 - 02/14/03 05:21 PM (15 years, 2 months ago)

Australian anti-war protests seem to be going smoothly.  Our local protest was very peaceful with a good cross section of the community.  There were over 100,000 people at the Melbourne protest yesterday.

I'd like to congratulate anyone who chooses to go to a protest, this is a worldwide concern and we need to take a stand.  It only takes a small effort from each person, but the combined force of many is powerful.

I hope that protests go well all over the world!

Peace

Did you attend a protest?

I went but I had to leave early to go to work.  I was only there for about 2 hours and now I feel pretty bad about it :frown:

Well done. They are saying there may have been 3/4 of a million people protesting in London. The biggest march in the history of the UK. Up in Glasgow (where I was) there was about 50,000 (probably). Also the biggest march that Scotland has ever seen. If Blair ignores this he will be commiting political suicide.

Apart from a (rather inevitable) skirmish outside the American embassy it was a very peaceful march. This I found to be very cool as protests normally lose a lot of credibility when they turn into riots.

I just got back from the protest in Calgary.  It was great!  Lots of fun, met lots of cute girls there too.  5000+ in attendance, we marched through the streets and had speeches.  Nice weather too, cold but not windy at all.

I drove 5 hrs to Chicago today to protest. Was kinda nervous cuz we had alot of rain and snow and it was a slick ride but it was worth it.
