Mycellium Excretion?
    #1308105 - 02/14/03 01:40 PM (13 years, 9 months ago)

I have some light orange discoloured mycellium on a few of my jars, all coming from the same syringe which I believe I used far too much flour (I got mixed up). I can't remember whether this is typical or a bacterial contam.

Any comments?

Ok, I didn't notice initially that the search was searching newer than a week so I have read my fill about this subject. I may get a picture of the jar up here if I can.

It might be wise to make a section in the faq on excretion.

Rust? Anybody got any more information on this. IE, how it occurs.

All jars from this same syringe I think are affected by this discoloration. They have foil lids. They have roughly about twice as much flour as they should have in though. A syringe that was prepared straight after this, using the same print appears not to be affected though it has a more uniiform flour concentration.

They would be facing down but as its foil I doubt its going to be down far.

I think it is more likely due to the flour concentration than rust. Considering that its is one particular syringe innoculated jars.

i've had a similar condition....I was using a bird seed that contained dye, there were pink/orange and green spots, I disected a cake and found that near certain colored pieces of grain it was darker...I cased and flushed...it was fine....

I tried to take a picture but the worlds thinnest digital camera may be pocket sized but it sure doesn't take a good picture unless its outside (and even then).
