Are those truly "mutations?"
Mutation is defined as an organism that has characteristics resulting from a chromosomal alteration. Do you think those mutations actually occur in the genetics of the mushroom or are they more on the physical side?
They are probably just deformities really, but calling them mutants in more fun, like a video game or something.

Here we have a mushroom growing INSIDE of another . Thanks to a tilt in growth it fell out of the substrate by itself. Turns out it was usually heavy for its size too!
