Help ID -- Charleston, SC Specimen

Habitat:
In grassy soil under deciduous trees.

Gills:
White, creamish gills that are attached, non crowded and evenly spaced.

Stem:
About 1.5 inches in length, curved, and a few centimeters in diameter.  Muted peach to yellow color.  Hollow.

Cap:
1.5 to 2 inches in diameter.  Dark peach in the middle, fading to very pale yellow.  Concave.

Bruising:
No bruising

Other information:
Found in Charleston, SC.

Maybe L. hygrophoroides.

This doesn't look like L. hygrophoroides. L. hygrophoroides has a solid stem, and not hollow like the OP described.

Lactarius anyway.  I didn't like my ID either but the gills were widely spaced and the colours kind of worked so I gave it a go, cheers for the correction.

The gill spacing is right, but the colors are off. Latex color might help narrow it down.

Looks white in the first two shots and I can't see any staining so I guess white.

Looking at it again, I'm not completely convinced that it's Lactarius. I'm thinking maybe Hygrophorus. Probably wrong though.:shrug:
