Minor glitch, the tubs that went in the FC today are a different substrain, they are Oak Ridge. But still a tissue clone.
I have more tubs of the GT coming along, they will go in the FC in 5-7 days.
So we a get a double comparison, minis vs dubtubs, and GT dubs vs OR dubs.
Temps will be relatively consistent over the next month, it won't cause much variation.

I am very interested in how your grow finishes out.  To a certain extent, I feel like I have been following and replicating your grows since my time at the Shroomery.

I may have to give double tubs a try... I have 13 jars of spawn...

Yeah, I suppose.

I have done some venturing on my own though.  This outdoor stuff is really blowing my mind right now.  I am very pleased with my outdoor tray.  I know the yield would be better inside, but I really can't complain for the simplicity and potency for that matter.

Have you ever done any outdoor stuff?

I'm right behind you Doc_T - I have a mini tub grow of OR about to spawn.

Can't wait to see your comparison results!

Ok, the first mini mono is done. I don't know why clones would finish at different times, but the second will be ready tonight or tomorrow, with #3 lagging a few days behind.

Pretty good harvest, but I'm not sure that the yield is in proportion, I'll have to see the final dry weight.
Even if the mini monos are not more efficient in terms of substrate, they use greenhouse space better.
But they take up more room colonizing, it's a tradeoff.

Quick braggy side note: in the greenhouse, this mini mono need no fanning or misting at all. Zero.
Set it and forget it, just like an ohmatic tub.

Roughly 20 ounces harvest weight, trimmed and dried should be around 1.5+ oz.
That's the biggest single fruit I've seen out of this culture, probably because of the depth of substrate.
The fruits tend to be tall and skinny and somewhat hollow due to genetics, it's not an airflow issue.

wierd, that happened w/ my g.t. clone as well, 4 trays mixed at the same time, but matured one tray at a time. no more than 5 days between the first and last, but still i thought i'd be harvesting all at once.

That is definitely worth bragging about. Zero maintenance is the holy grail really.

I wish I could achieve this without having to keep the tubs in a humidity tent.

I think it's time for me to experiment with some diff hole sizes. Let's say I wanted to decrease evaporation by 30 percent; that being the difference in rh between your martha and my space. I guess I could start by simply decreasing the area of the holes by 30 percent or perhaps simply the number of holes.

That's a start. There's certainly some room for play.
Even if you cut airflow to some extent, you may still be better off.
So try some different hole sizes. Start with the same spacing, just change one thing at a time.
Or run a humidifier in your room. You've tried this without one, I guess?

I was under the impression that in a properly tuned in greenhouse that you dont need to fan and mist.

Depends on the setup, depends on the tubs. If you can do that, nifty. I usually can't here.

I still need to learn the differences and purposes of coolmists and (isn't there another thing used in greenhouses) ?

Is it just a coolmist piped into a greenhouse?

Sorry for the off topic its been on my mind for a couple of days.

I don't use a cool mist, just a fan to bring in fresh air. Ultrasonic inside on a humidistat.

Ultrasonic thats what I was looking for. Isnt that just the standard humidifier you buy if you sick?

I do run a big humidifier, but thats just to keep the rh up to 45-50. I have been having success with these shotgun mono's at this rh, but I have to mist 2-3 times a day.

I figure that a 30 percent decrease in size from 1/4 diameter is .175 inch or 4.4 mm, so Ima gonna try this out with an 11/64th bit.
