Sorry I didn't post the specs of the mushroom.
Habitat: In mixed woods- many balsam and oak, light underbrush. The are with the most mushrooms was VERY mossy
Gills: I think they are false gills- yellow to yellow orange but paler than the cap. The gills run part way down the stem and seem to fork as well
Stems: 1"-3" long and about 1/2-3/4" thick on the average- some were larger on some of the bigger mushrooms. The color towards the top of the stem is close to that of the gills, but pales as it reaches the bottom. Out of about 30 mushrooms picked, 3 had partly hollow stems towards the bottom and were larger in overall size than the majority.
Cap: Color- Yellow to yellow orange- like an egg yolk, smooth texture, however some of them have cracks in the center, the shape is concave or slightly cup like on several. The majority are about 2-4" across. one is almost 6"!
Spore Print- waiting on this still
Bruising- doesn't seem to bruise
Scent: slightly sweet with fruity undertones, overall the scent is very mild. However, I've read that Chanterelles have a apricot like scent so I may be smelling something only because I really want these to be Chanterelles. The power of the human mind right?
If anyone needs or would like to get more specific info or pics of more of the specimens let me know.

No further info necessary. It's clear from the false gills that these are true Chanterelles.

We're dealing with chanterelles. I'm upset because the last time I checked my chant spot, I found about 1lb of overripe, somewhat soggy chants. Absolute bummer. It seems as though yours are a bit soggy as well. They're so much better firm and dry : (,
