Contaminated Casing Buried Outside in the Heat

Okay so this is my first grow and I did a bunch of pf cakes and decided to try one casing consisting of 3 crumbled cakes with verm/peat moss just to see what would happen.
The cakes are doing really well and just today started showing their first pins .
However I also noticed today that my casing had a few spots of green mold, I cut it out and tried to sterilize with h2O2 but after reading one of RR's posts saying to bury contaminated casings outside, I took his advice as usual.
I found some shrubs that looked like they would provide adequate shade, and buried the casing in a shallow hole and covered with a thin layer of dirt.
My question is, since it's August in Oklahoma, will the mycelium likely just die of the heat? The forecast predicts highs to get over 100 for the next few days, until this weekend when it's supposed to rain. Should I just forget about it and cut my losses or is there a chance the mycelium can survive since it's a couple inches underground and in the shade?

Oh, man... I spent one of those, at Ft. Sill.
Your myc is likely to do well, though. It's not that hot under the ground, and if humidity is right... you might get mushrooms.
