Re-using contamed monotubs...

Hey folks,
I had a monotub contaminate (I know it sucks, but thank god for cheap rye and LCs). Anyway, I pitched it because it started smelling really funky. I dumped out the sub and spawn and then washed it carefully with a hose, wiped it down and soaked it with a pure bleach solution, rinsed, and then wiped it down again with 70% rubbing alcohol. They were also allowed to sit in the direct sunlight for 30 minutes or so.
Do you think these plastic tubs would be ok to use again? I would think that much rinsing, bleaching, sunlight, and rubbing alcohol would do the trick, but I don't want to spawn a bunch of rye into one and just have it contaminate again.
What do you think?

If you clean it properly, you can re-use it as many times as you like. Just like we re-use our mason jars for grain...

A solution of 10% laundry bleach and 90% water works much better. The water is needed to penetrate the cells so the bleach can nuke them. RR

Makes sense. I will give it another rub down with some bleach solution before spawning.

Less is more with bleach as with so much else. Even 10% is strong for routine decontamination, a capful in a gallon works fine. Too strong can irritate your skin and can damage your eyes, and it's not doing any better job on the nasties.
