Average yield from cakes
    #13039800 - 08/12/10 01:00 AM (14 years, 5 months ago)

I have seen people say that the average yield from cakes is 3-7g dry from all flushes.  I think this can't be true.  I am on my first ever grow and have just harvested the first flush off one of my cakes and it has come in at 90g wet, so should be 9g dry, with one shroom weighing 45g wet alone.

If I get three flushes per cake with equal yield then I will be getting a dry ounce per cake.  Am I just lucky to get one large fruit or are cakes actually very good yield, especially considering the amount of effort/ease to grow.

I am in UK so these were the jars I got hold of:
jars

I am not sure how they equate to pint/half pint jars you use in USA.

Those jars are 6oz more than normal 1/2 pint jars. You could theoretically enjoy a little less than double the yield of a normal PF jar.

So I guess that is still in line with what you would expect off a 1/2 pint jar.

And thanks for all the great advice I have read on these forums.  The search function has saved me from worrying that it was all going wrong at every point

My next cake is nearly ready for harvest.  I am not sure how one shroom decided to grow out of another shroom's cap.

Maybe I am missing something here.

1/2 pint = 235 ml

his jars= 324 ml

That means 89ml more. So you can enjoy about 1/3 more the yield of a 1/2 pint jar. That means you did a great job with your first flush. If you like cakes, look in my signature. Keep up the good work. LM

Im going by the ounces, a 8oz 1/2 pint vs a 14oz jar = 6oz difference. 1/3 is less than half right? in fact 1/3 = 2/6 so its only 1/6 off from being a complete half which is why i said a little less than half. I guess i could have said you will get about one third less than half.

yes, we are in a no man's land  However 90 grams is still a very good flush though not exceptional. I usually go over 100 with 1/2 pints jars or 300 ml jars.

I havent done PF tek since 03 or so, but i never got much, enough for a few of my friends to trip and enjoy a night.  Doing tubs is less work than doing PF tek and the amount you get embaresses pf tek
