SG for casing?

I am a complete noob. So far, i failed at everything i've tried, but now have 10 jars of WBS colonizing nicely with Cambodians and Albino A+. I am just wondering, once i case the colonized substrate (whether i spawn to coir or not, i havent decided), would it be good to have the trays in a SGFC? I am worried about going to a monotub, just because i want to try to keep what i'm doing simple. I failed at BRF jars (they just never colonized, and i think i ordered them from a bunk source, they smell a bit funny), then i failed with cracked corn, so now that i actually have something growing, i dont want to fuck it up. Any help would be appreciated! i would really like to grow these little guys up and eat them. Also, what is the fastest way to get the fruiting done, without sacrificing much yield? i only have a month before i'm moving, and dont really want to have to move in the middle of a grow.

You can do trays in a shotgun. You could also do a hybrid monotub/shotgun.

As far as speed, you really can't rush it. It'll happen when it happens. But 10-14 days for the spawn run, and another 10-14 for fruiting says you should be able harvest within 30 days.

What do you think my results would be if i skipped the spawning and just straight cased the WBS? I ask because the jars are not yet fully colonized, and i know to wait for that will be another week or 2 added onto the time frame.

Good results, not much faster though. Do it right, you have time. You only have to wait for 100% colonization with grains, not the extra week.
Or if they really aren't done, keep them cool until after you move. But don't try to rush the mushrooms.

Kudos for sticking with it. Failure the first time is soooooo frustrating. Hell, during my first grow I wanted to give up when things took an extra week.
I'm on my 4th grow, and I just cased 2 qts of WBS 10 days ago. It is Allen strain and was by far the most virile, quickly colonizing myc I've ever had. In your case it may take longer, it may not. They took 10 days to colonize the WBS, 2 days to colonize the casing, and about 5 days in the FC for pins to pop up. My "experimental" FC is just a simple 5 gal pickle bucket with about ten 1/2 inch holes drilled. I'm 3 days into pinning and it looks like it will be another 3 or 4 before harvest. That's ~24 days from inoculation to fruits. So if you already have colonized jars, you should have plenty of time - 2 weeks, maybe 3 at the VERY most till you have big, beautiful mushies.
Just make sure the casing layer isn't too thick... it will take extra time colonize (and adds contam risk). Also, don't forget that you will have more flushes after the first one. So, chances are you will have to move the casing anyways... unless you decide to throw a perfectly good, thriving casing away.
Stick with it, man. You will be very happy, very soon.

You're right, i didnt even consider the extra flushes. Shit. I guess I'll have to move them anyway. Thank you thought, thats very encouraging news. I was expecting it to take a little longer than that (though the cambodians are colonizing very rapidly). I just want this shit to work. I was screwed on the first set of syringes i bought (from sporestore. yuck.). They didnt do a damn thing, so it can be very discouraging. I'm just super excited now that i actually have myc growing, and i can't wait for it to grow some beautiful mushrooms for my consumption.

You don't have to move them. It's not like a puppy, you can just leave it.
I mean, if you really have to.

Or maybe not, i suppose i have longer than i stated. I dont finish school until September 27th, so I'll be moving shortly after that. Hopefully I'll have time for them to finish, if not oh well i guess. Not much harm in moving the setup, really.

Sporestore huh? Ya I guess that was a mistake. I buy from Ralphsters. I know you finally found some spores that are working, but don't stray from this list: http://www.shroomery.org/sponsors.php The bad thing about a good vender (from their point of view) is that after you buy one syringe, you won't need to ever buy any more... if you don't want to. Kinda makes me feel guilty. I guess I should just order some more strains to show my gratitude.

Yea i kinda screwed up pretty big there, ordered 4 syringes from them before i found shroomery and its list of reputable sponsors. Now i ordered from sporeworks and freespores, and both really came through. But hey, you could always just give them business by ordering other supplies, filter disks and such.
