I did a search and didn't come up with a good list of all the mushrooms that can be cultivated indoors, active or non-active.
Also, if you know the difficulty level (1-10) of any of these post them up. Example: a cubensis is like a 1 or a 2 where a morel is like an 11.
So lets start a list.
Active:
Cubes - (Psilocybe cubensis) Difficulty: 1-2 Panaeolus cyanescens Psilocybe Azurescens Big Laughing Gyms (Gymnopilus spectabilis) Panaeolus Cambo Panaeolus Cyan Maui Hawaii Panaeolus Cyan Jamaica Panaeolus Subb Panaeolus Galindoi-ATL#7 Panaeolus Mexicana-A Panaeolus Mexicana-Jalisco Panaeolus Ovoideocystidiata Panaeolus Stunzii Panaeolus Tampanensis Panaeolus Weilii
Indoor as truffles:
Psilocybe Galindoi-ATL#7 Psilocybe Mexicana-A Psilocybe Mexicana-Jalisco Psilocybe Tampanensis
Best outdoors: Psilocybe Azures Psilocybe Semilanceata Psilocybe Caerulescens Psilocybe Cyanecens Psilocybe Cyanofriscosa Psilocybe Zapotecerum
Non-Active:
Shiitake (Lentinula edodes) Oyster (Pleurotus ostreatus) Pink Oyster (Pleurotus djamor) Blue Oyster (Pleurotus columbinus) Golden Oyster (Pleurotus citrinopileatus) Grey Oyster (Pleurotus Ostreatus) King Oyster (Pleurotus eryngii) Pearl Oyster (Pleurotus ostreatus) Phoenix Oyster (Pleurotus pulmonarius) Nameko (Pholiota nameko) Enokitake (Flammulina populicola) Lion's Mane(Hericium erinaceus) Maitake (Grifola frondosa) Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) Pioppino (Agrocybe aegerita) Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) King Tuber (Pleurotus tuber-regium) White buttons (Agaricus bisporus) Cremini (Agaricus bisporus) Portobello (Agaricus bisporus) King Stropharia, Wine Cap (Stropharia rugoso-annulata) Shaggy Mane (Coprinus comatus) Difficulty: 8? White Beech (Hypsizygus tessulatus-Shimeji)
Novelty:
Panellus stipticus, glows in the dark

I'm pretty sure every mushroom out their can grow indoors under some habitat related conditions.
W/e
Below is a list of some of the more popular wild edible mushrooms:
* Morels - Morchella sp - Extremely popular the world over for their unique flavor and shape. Known to induce an intense appreciation! * Maitake - Grifola frondosa - A strange-looking larger mushroom that is both edible and medicinal. * Porcini - Boletus edulis - Another delicious edible loved the world over. * Giant Puffball - Calvatia gigantea - Yes, these giant white globes are edible (and fun to look at). * Chanterelles - Cantharellus cibarius - Considered a gourmet edible, these beautiful mushrooms are not difficult to identify with some practice. * Matsutake - Tricholoma matsutake - These are very popular in Japanese cuisine. * Shaggy Mane - Coprinus comatus - Should be eaten soon after cooking as they disintegrate into an inky mess. * Black Trumpet - Craterellus cornucopioides - These rich-tasting mushrooms look like black chanterelles. My favorite edible species!
Commercially cultivated mushrooms are produced on farms and growing sites all over the world. Below is a list of some common species that go from growing room to grocery store.
* White buttons - Agaricus bisporus - The common white button-shaped mushroom in stores. * Cremini - Agaricus bisporus - Slightly larger, brown strain of the white button. Known for its firm texture and heartier taste. * Portobello - Agaricus bisporus (yet again!) - Simply a large, overgrown cremini. Popular on their own and as a meat substitute. * Oyster - Pleurotus ostreatus - One of the easiest species to cultivate, produced all over the world. * Enokitake - Flammulina velutipes - These long and thin mushrooms are popular in soups. * Shiitake - Lentinula edodes - These well-known mushrooms are delicious and good for you.

if you can cultivate morels indoors you would be very very very lucky.
most all edibles (with the exception of morels) can be done indoors.
these species of actives: psi. Azures psi. Semilanceata psi. Caerulescens psi. Cyanecens psi. Cyanofriscosa psi. Zapotecerum are best cultivated outside if you want good success with them.
P.Cubensis can all be grown indoors along with these edibles(non-active)/exotics(active)
Edibles/Medicinals: Black Poplar-Agrocybe aegerita-Pioppino Blue Oyster-Pleurotus columbinus Golden Oyster-Pleurotus citrinopileatus Grey Oyster-Pleurotus Ostreatus King Oyster-Pleurotus eryngii King Stropharia-Wine Cap-Stropharia rugoso-annulata-Garden Giant Lions Mane-Hericium erinaceus Nameko-Pholiota Nameko Pearl Oyster-Pleurotus ostreatus Phoenix Oyster-Pleurotus pulmonarius Reishi-Ling Chi-Ganoderma lucidum Shaggy Mane-Coprinus comatus White Beech-Hypsizygus tessulatus-Shimeji White Enoki-Flammulina velutipes
exotics: Gymnopilus spectabilis-Big Laughing Gyms (active) pan. Cambo pan. Cyan Maui Hawaii pan. Cyan Jamaica pan. Subb psi. Galindoi-ATL#7 psi. Mexicana-A psi. Mexicana-Jalisco psi. Ovoideocystidiata psi. Stunzii psi. Tampanensis psi. Weilii
those strains/species are just what Ive experienced/learned/have.

Many mushrooms are mycorrhizal and require a host tree to fruit like Chanterelles or Porcini - Boletus edulis.
Also morels have been known to be cultivated only a few times indoors. From what I understand most people have not been able to get it to fruit.
I will add these to the list:
* White buttons - Agaricus bisporus - The common white button-shaped mushroom in stores. * Cremini - Agaricus bisporus - Slightly larger, brown strain of the white button. Known for its firm texture and heartier taste. * Portobello - Agaricus bisporus (yet again!) - Simply a large, overgrown cremini. Popular on their own and as a meat substitute.
Anyone know if Giant Puffball - Calvatia gigantea has been cultivated indoors?

Put up some screening, call it a three-season room. Indoor puffballs.

Put Panellus stipticus on your list, it's a bioluminescent novelty species. Loves pf cakes.

I wasn't talking about psychedelic sclerotia growing species. I was talking about the ectomycorrhizal species of edible truffles such as the white truffle (Tuber magnatum), the black truffle (Tuber melanosporum) and others. I am inclined to believe that the tuber truffles are fruit bodies as they are ascomycetous and rely upon mycophagy to spread their spores and the sclerotia of psilocybes is more of a hard mass of mycelium and nutrients.
