Odd shape: Genes or conditions?
    #13035720 - 08/11/10 10:03 AM (14 years, 5 months ago)

Hello.

Can growing conditions cause this visually unappealing mushroom shape? Or is it the genes. I believe that the mushroom is multispore tasmanian cubensis. The substrate is oat grain.

In your case I would say it's genetics but sometimes wrong conditions can cause genetic mutations. Dryness for instance.

My guess: both.
I think that started as a much bigger mushroom but growth was restricted due to insufficient water.

You make it all possible. Doesn't it feel good?
