Getting people out of loops.

Hey all,
So a friend of mine dosed with his girlfriend this weekend and she was knee-deep in a loop that went on for hours. It got me thinking, does anyone here have any advice on how to get people out of loops? Usually I find you simply have to be there for the person, and ride the loop with them, and they'll find their way out of it themselves.

Changing my setting defiantly helps this.

Yeah, definitely change the setting.
I remember lighting a cigarette once and it solved an existential crisis.

I got caught on a loop on DMT that seemed to last for hours. I couldn't break it. Only lasted 3 minutes real time but that was much longer than that.
I took off my shirt and went to another room and it stopped.
It's probably only a setting thing, along with some good vibes from sitters around.
I get caught in thought loops once in a while. Probably happened in 5 of my 100+ experiences.

My gf always seems to get us into loops on acid and the best thing to do is walk around outside and not talk. Acid wont kill you so just be calm and ride it out. What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger!
First thing I do is check if all my regular bodily functions are in tact. Then think like a parent with a baby. Whats missing to make you "happy" "stop crying" "get out of loop".
Pissing, pooping, drinking water, fresh air, calm setting are all good things to have when in a loop.
Ive actually gone into a loop while on 3 pills and it was because i told myself early dam i need to pee then went to the bathroom and didn't have to pee... I was just looking down into the toilet for a few minutes tell i solved the loop which was oh yeah I don't have to pee at the moment. Pill loops are alot easyer than lsd/mushroom loops that seem to be infinite.

Remind him/her of memories outside of the trip. Family, friends, vacations etc..

Wow. yes
This works so well.
If they can remember that there IS life outside the trip. Last thought loop I couldn't remember I'm a son and a brother.
I tried and tried but I couldn't.

Change of set and setting. God I always get fucked by thought loops, my last trip was on DMT about 2 weeks ago and the first 2 parts of the trip were thought loops. They weren't extreme, i've had way worse, but those things trip you out real hard.

It's hard to know what to do for someone when they are in a loop. All I can do is show them light and love. If they can manage and are lucid enough sometimes yoga and breathing exercises can help. Sometimes human touch (a massage) can really help soothe.
I just try to do the things that I'd want someone to do for me. If I was in a loop on acid and having a rough time, I'd want someone to help me focus on meditation and breathing.

Is a loop where you literally see, hear, feel, etc. the same shit over and over? If so I honestly feel like I'd like to get stuck in one to see what it's like.... It sounds intense and a little scary, but I like being frightened.

by far the best thing for me is to take a nice big long hit of nitrous. after that as many have said, get up and g on a walk or move out side or to another room. create an activity, or start talking to the person on a different subject you know they are passionate about.
ive gotten stuck in some serious loops before, never had anyone with me that cared enough (or noticed )to help me get out, sad. sounds like you are a very responsible sitter

basically.
good thought loops are great, but bad ones are horrible, and they are a lot more common.
trust me, dont try to get one.

oh, and the best cure is some xanax or valium ~ any benzo that hits fast is good. but xanax is the best IMO.

This exactly. taking care of your bodily functions, including proper breathing and hydration help a lot.
Sometimes though it has nothing to do with peeing or pooping. Sometimes it's much deeper...

I don't know my friend was caught in an extreme loop once and it took him hours to come out of it.
We tried reminding him of other things like his family, his mom's name etc. Muhfucka had no idea what we were talking about and just kept rambling on about fractals and waking life, saying random numbers, repeating the phrase be here now. He didn't come out of it until literally two minutes before his girlfriend showed up. We thought we were gonna have to take him to the hospital. Crazy shit. Would love to know a fool-proof way to bring someone out of a loop.

that must have been horrible, should have taken promethazine ~ stopps nausea and duls the trip.
it was probably caused by the shrooms though, that is if you have taken xanax before.
