What are we looking at? And is it as wet as it looks?

i don't see any hyphal-knotting. So don't expect pins too soon.

Am I crazy ? ... I see many, many knots on that substrate.
The little bright white dots.
I'd fan the hell out of it.
Is that straight grain?
edit. sorry .... went back and looked .. I see the straw now.

I saw the dots, wasn't sure if it's contaminated or knots. Agreed about fanning.

I went back looked at it closer and actually I can see some knots beginning.
I also noticed a hole near the substrate that suggests that the substrate is in fact sitting in a shotgun FC the way you would put a sub in a monotub. This could be a problem, what's up with that?

it is wbs with straw fully colonized sitting in more or less a monotub smaller holes just more of them but not nearly as many as a shotgun fc.. how often should I fan???? and it looks like the block of straw is kind of shrinking a bit is this normal???

fan and mist 3-6 times a day
shrinking is because its eating the substrate and pulling it in

Cool deal.
I thought there were lots of knots on your substrate and figured you were close to seeing pins.
Glad you are.
Good luck.
