ok, so ive got my shotgun fc (2 inches of pearlite layered in the bottom of a 65 qt cleat rubbermaid, with a clear top, and lots of holes in the sides.) set up in my grow area, and i have a cold mist humidifier hooked up to the side of it, blowing in on high at all times, there is a box fan at the other end of my room for indirect air flo (better fae, i walked around my room with a piece of sewing thread to check air flow).
i guess my question is, do i still have to mist the fc,
temps fluc. between 73 and 77, and my rh is between 94 and 99, never outside of those ranges throughout the day, i just dont know if i have to mist. thanks for your time. happy farming

yes mist and fan at least 3 times every day. We don't mist in order to raise rh, but in order to replenish moisture lost because of the evaporation of water from the substrate. No need to use a fan: just leave your SGFC on an open shelf. GL

If the cool mist keeps it at the right humidity, you may not need to mist or fan at all. Keep an eye out to make sure it doesn't get soggy.

If you want ideal conditions, I suggest you to mist and fan as required. But that's a debatable point. Furthermore I prefer a standard SGFC so I guess I am prejudiced.

unless i was taught wrong you shouldn't mist all day. only 3-4 times daily, the results i got from doing that were good.

For newbs, I would too. But I use an automated greenhouse, so I can't really talk.

thanks for the quick replies guys, Ive begun misting 3 times daily, hopefully this will help my lil guys along a bit quicker,
i just started 20, 1/2 pt brf cakes, 7 gt, 7 B+, and 6 tazz, after only 3 days all are showing amazing signs of growth, the 3 of the gt's were inoc. with 1cc of myc water that i made with one of my g2g popcorn starters, showing explosive growth. (most likely goin to wbs, seems like a better tek).
another question... my first attempt at cultivation was a minor success, 2 more pint jars just came out of a 24hr fridge dunk, these were made using 2c. verm, 1c. whole wheat flour, 1c. water, they were put into the fc on the 9th...
what type of time line did you have or would i be looking at b4 pinning started while using whole wheat flour vs brf, i can already tell that brf colonizes much faster, but looking for your insight. thanks again for your time.
p.s. i saved my first flush for this weekend, goin to see Phish at Alpine in Wisconsin on the 15th! just under 7g for me and the lady friend.

This cake was prepared using whole wheat flour. As I've said many times before, "brf is best for cakes" is outdated info. Pint jars suck though.
