Casing a Fully Colonized Tray?

Hi All
I have:
Fully Colonized Tray 10" x 16" x 4" Strain B+ 2 qts colonized WBS 4 qts pastuerized coir 4 qts pastuerized hpoo couple handfulls of pastuerized straw
casing layer: 1/2" pastuerized peat/verm/gypsum
My question is do you prefer to:
1) Case a fully colonized tray and put it right into the fruiting chamber and initiate fruiting
or
2) Case the fully colonized tray and incubate it for a few days and the put it in the fruiting chamber and initiate fruiting
I've seen both ways and haven't really noticed a difference in speed or output and was just wondering other people experiences.
Thanks Shaq

If I was going to case, I'd build everything at once.
-------------------- You make it all possible. Doesn't it feel good?

I've always been under the understanding that you case and then incubate for a few days, mainly to let it absorb nutrients from the casing layer.
Anyone else?

You want it to colonize the casing layer a little bit. But yeah, put it all together at once then let it sit and colonize.

the casing layer should havent any nutrients for it to absorb also its only to provide moisture and humidity in a micro climate
so the evaporation from the casing layer causes pinning thats why your fanning and misting unless you have a system like mine
then FAE and light
those are the three major pinning triggers
some people say you should case some say you shouldent i get smaller but more mushrooms from cased and larger but less from uncased and they both weigh out to the same
EDIT; forgot to answer question lol
with cubes case then let colonize for 24 hours then throw in the FC with pan cyans case and throw right into FC
of course some people just case and toss in no matter what its all about climate and individual tastes

#2.
If you are going to case, allow a few days for the mycelium to run into the casing layer. When its starting to break the surface in places, it's ready. remember that introduction to fresh air, and light, are triggers its time, and by putting it in right away you're sending that signal when the mycelium is still completely under a half inch of casing...
See: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/3290155
For killer pinsets...
->
In the grand scheme, I don't know that "speed" nor "output" is drastically altered in the long run but doesn't it look nice to have a forest of a flush? In both cases its probably 6 of one half dozen the other, a poor pin set means there's energy & resources for larger individuals even if fewer (thought a 4" depth can handle some pretty packed pinsets) and sustained later flushes if contams are kept at bay (but that's an argument for getting more eggs in the first flush basket). If you've tried both ways and dont see a difference, go with what feels good but as long as you're casing try hyphae's tips in that post above once before you decide...

my pinset was good , i only used 1/4 inch of casing let colonize one day and threw into FC but like i said its all about taste
