I'm worried...should I be worried?

Hey guys. I ordered a syringe from Avalon Magic Plants a few weeks ago. I got it in the mail, and put it in my fridge which was at about 6C (the package said to store it at 2-8C).
I waited a few days then started. I've followed the PF Tek from http://www.mushroomvideos.com/BRF-Pf-Tek to a T. I used 2 cups vermiculite, 1 cup BRF, 1 cup H20 from the tap. I then sterilized for 90 minutes.
I inoculated 5 jars with 1ml each, about 2 weeks ago. They were kept at room temp (65F) until a few days ago, when someone told me that they should be at 80F, which is what I've been keeping them at since.
The thing is, I haven't seen any signs of colonization yet. There are no signs of contaminants either, just nothing at all. I did another batch about 3 days ago with the remaining 5ml, but only inoculated 3 jars, to make sure. They went straight into 80F. They also show no signs of anything.
What could be the problem? I alcohol and flame sterilized the needle between each jar, the substrate seemed to clump nicely and have nice moisture content like in the videos, and there doesn't seem to be anything growing in them at all. Could the syringe be a dud? Someone in the chat room told me I should see little black spores in the solution, but the people at AMP said it should be clear and you shouldn't see anything, because they are microscopic.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

keep waiting. It could take 8 to 14 days. Lower temps seem to slow things down a little bit, but they don't hurt anything.

14 days to show any signs of colonizing at all?? Anyway, with the first batch, it has been about 14 days...
Also, any knowledge on what the spore solution should look like? Was the guy full of shit or what?

Clear syringe is preferable, actually. You don't want too many spores, just enough is plenty. 14 days... I'd be looking at starting over soon. Sorry.

Yep. 4 Holes in each jar lid. Against the side, watched it dribble down a bit. Flame sterilized and wiped with rubbing alcohol between each jar.

But...what could I have possibly done wrong? There are no contams. How would they just not work? Should I not have used tap water, even though I sterilized it? Could the chlorine in it have done bad stuff?

Hard to say. Could have been a bad syringe. Tap water is fine for most people most of the time- if you drink it, it likely is perfect. Chlorine is a non-issue.
You didn't grow any contams either though, right? So your jars are sterile, that's good.
You said they went straight to 80 degrees- you don't need an incubator, room temp is fine. But 80 isn't a problem, if that's what temp they were in. They don't get hot inside or anything.

Yeah, I do drink the tap water. I was keeping them at 65F until I was told that they'd go faster at around 80F. The second batch went straight to the 80F. I'm keeping them in a terrarium, could that somehow be a problem?
I think I'm going to ask for another syringe or something. They seem understanding.

That looks way too wet. Your mix seems like it was right though.... I am a bit puzzled. Did you cover them with aluminum foil when you sterilized?

did you let them cool after your pressure cooked them?

Yeah, I did. It probably looks a little wetter than it is. You can see tiny droplets along the sides, but that's about all. It may even be from the spore solution.
And yes, I let them cool overnight before inoculating, as was instructed in the Tek.

I know the myc will condense some. Maybe I just can't tell. I have a couple jars that did the same thing. Ok just went back and looked at the pic again. Yeah you're fine. Just wait. I've had some REALLYYYYYY slow jars with multi spore.

80 better than 65. 75ish better than 80, IMO. But as long as you don't go over 80, it's ok.
