questions on indoor greenhouse

Hi,
I'm planning to set up my 4 tier indoor greenhouse shortly & I want to check my thinking with others here to make sure I've considered everything.
To my thinking the key things needed for an indoor greenhouse are:
- Humidity - I've got a 4.5L ultrasonic humidifier - puts out 300ml/hour in a cool mist & can run 1m out of every 4. I should be able to further control humidity with an analog timer. I was planning to put it in the bottom of the greenhouse.
- Free Air Exchange - I'm less sure on this. I have 2 real options:
1) Open the flaps a bit or keep the plastic covering rolled up a bit at the bottom to let air in; or 2) use an air pump with a little tube poked into the greenhouse to push fresh air in. Whats my best option?
- Heat - Not certain on this. It'll be around room temp & I could site it nearer to the radiator but it won't be on all the time. Do I need to get an alternative heat source, if so what's best & safest?
- Light - I'm planning to find a 6500K bulb and stand for it & keep this outside the greenhouse. I currently have a 2ft flourescent tube - would this work just as well or is it worth investing in the 6500K?
I think that's all I need - apart from something to go in it, but I've got that sorted.
I'm going to put some poly sheeting under the greenhouse. I'd prefer some sort of big tray or \___/ shaped thing underneath it too but can't think of anything big enough to work so will polysheeting be effective in preventing leaks?
So does that all sound ok? any thought or improvements let me know.

Room temperature is cool.
Your fresh air will come from your humidifier. Have the humidifier on the outside of the green house and pump the humid air in through some type of duct work.
And you don't need a bright light at all.

I put the humidifier inside, then have a fan blow in FAE on a timer. Plus you're going to open it at least once a day, you can fan the whole thing out at that point.

Sounds good. I use a very similar setup.
Be careful of the ultrasonic. They can easily soak your greenhouse and whatever you may have inside it. I just use a vicks (v400) coolmist humidifier on the bottom shelf at 5 minutes on, 10-15 off depending on how many tubs are fruiting, and it works great.
For FAE, I have about 12 1" by 1" holes cut on either side of the plastic cover, 3 for every tier. And then another 8 on the front. The humidifier alone probably provides enough air movement to exchange the air just fine, but I still fan it occasionally.
Heat shouldn't be an issue. As long as you're between 68-78, you should be fine. If you do need extra heat in the winter, just get a small space heater and place it in the room with the greenhouse.
The florescent tubes will work, just not nearly as well as a 6500K CFL. They're not very expensive and last a long time.

Use a large "under the bed" type plastic tote. Something 4-5" deep and about the width of the greenhouse. Fill it with a few inches of soaked perlite and you're good to go. It will catch whatever drips may fall and keep your rH up as well.

Ok I have been considering the same idea, basicly. My ? Is does not humidity sink?? Could one not put a tray of mois perlite top shelf and keep moist? I am sure an old head has thought of this????

With the ultrasonic I don't think I'll be able to run it from outside via ductwork or tubing, I'll try it out once I've got everything set up but I've got a few fans so I'll probably just have a fan at ground level & blow air in the bottom every so often.
In the winter it gets cold here so I'll look into a spaceheater or similar.

The humidifier is going to provide the humidity for the most part. The tray of perlite is for catching stray drips and also allows the drips to be returned to the air through evaporation. It'll add to the rH, but alone, I doubt it'd be enough.

Try ebay, I got mine for £20 delivered, that is the UK market though prices're probably different in the states.

I don't think I have anything big enough - greenhouse base is 69cm x 49 cm. All my totes are narrower than that. I'll look about though, should be able to find something.

Might work, though it'd depend on the rate of evaporation & therefore temp.

I put a plastic bag under mine, just flat on the floor. Don't bother with perlite in the bottom- but tuns of it are handy as ballast while you are dialing it in.
