Syringes for spores

I am thinking about trying my hands at a beginner's cultivation of Panaeolus cinctulus. I have spores but do not have the sterile syringe to draw up the spore solution into and inject the substrate jars with.
How would someone do this without easy access to sterile syringes?

If you have a syringe, just get a saucepan of water to a boil and suck the water into the syringe. Discharge the water, and draw it back in again. Repeat the process a few times - then use the water in your syringe to put into a shot glass of sorts and let it cool. Scrape the spores in and draw the spore water back in.

I am assuming you got these spores from wild prints?
If so, you will have to start on agar.

Ok so what your talking about is just using like the medicine dosage syringe thingy without the needle attached? Because what I'm seeing in the PF Tek would require the needle attached to the syringe because it would appear that during the inoculation you puncture rid to the substrate jars with the needle and that's how you introduce the solution to the substrate.
Now the appeal in using the PF Tek comes from the fact that it's very easy to do, it can be done with or without a pressure cooker, and because of it's relatively simple setup. I can see what you are saying and I could also see maybe making pre drilled holes in the jar lid then covering the holes with medical tape, but you still have to pull back the tape at some point to get the syringe tip in the hole for inoculation which opens you up to contamination.

Yes you are correct. I did get these from wild prints. I don't understand why I need to start on agar. Isn't that much harder than growing on substrate? What all does that involve? And if I'm going to start with agar wouldn't I just as easily be able to clone a dried cubensis in agar and use that as my start instead of growing Panaeolus cinctulus?

if you cultivate from a wild print. you are no beginner ;D
wild prints are almost always contamd. you will need to start on agar to separate some healthy myc

i used three wild prints so far, i always picked mushrooms that had the veil still partially closed, and i NEVER got a contaminant from a wild print i have taken in sterile conditions. Just saying... you could get away with it.
You're a beginner though, so you most likely don't know what matters when it comes to sterile procedure.
I suggest you start a liquid culture from a tissue sample of your wild mushroom, you take the sample from the inside, where no contams can get to it. once you see mycelium growing in the LC, stir it up and use that to inoculate a few cakes. Once you have your own spore print you made yourself you're golden.

K thanks. Looks like I have a project in front of me. I started reading about agar use and how it works. I think I'm going to try cloning some ubber dank dried cubes I have access to Seems like a rough place to start but seeing as how I'm in one of the three states...

Tissue -> LC is sketchy at best. Dried tissue to LC is a waste of time. Agar is really your only hope of pulling this off the way you want to.
If you have wild spore prints, just swipe a little onto an agar plate and go from there. No syringe necessary.
