I'm going to ask a probably common question

I have been searching and reading threads for several hours trying to take notes and organize in my head what all needs to happen and in what order for me to do a bulk grow. I know I need to start an LC. I need a shitload of quart jars with funky lids made up. I need to get the grain right then put it in jars and PC, then inoculate them from my LC. I looked on craigslist, horse shit is abundant and straw is cheap. So I follow the tek to pasteurize my straw/crap mix(after leeching the crap. I put it in my tub and mix in the colonized grain spawn. let it fully colonize the tub then fruit.
Questions 1.The syringes you get from, say sporeworks, can they be PCed with water in them without melting for doing clone work?
2. I asked this before but I'm not sure what the answer was or whether Doc_T was kidding; Can I use malted grain or do I have to use malted grain. I have a ton on hand.
Thats all I can think of right now all though I'm sure I have more. The only question I can think of now has to do with my brf cakes I have now. I have 4 half pint jars for each of three strains. Can I crumble all of these together and just mix the strains up? Then add this to twice the amount of substrate as there is spawn and grow a big ol strain orgy?

The syringes will not melt, but do wear out over repeated uses. Malted grains are a very poor choice for grain spawn. Malted means they have been germinated, which means their starches and sugars are exposed. This will lead to moisture content issues and invite contamination.
Try wild bird feed or rye berries.

1) Medical syringes, like SporeWorks uses, can be PCed many, many times. I reuse them until the ink wears off.
2) UTSE
3) You can mix the strains, but you'll have more fun if you don't. Make three separate tubs.

They would be tiny. Like 3 quarts total sub and thats after the spawn is added. Is that right? That three little tiny tubs.

Three quarts is half of one of these:

If you mix them, you'll get uneven(er) pinning, inconsistent(er) sizes and shapes. Plus you can't trade prints, since yours will be nameless bastards.

I got two more. I haven't seen to do it or not to do it but I'm guess I do not put holes in the bottom of my tub for drainage.
What if I supplement the mycelia with oxygen?

You can put a hole in the bottom of a tub for drainage just tape it up when your not draining the tub.

Agreed about the drain hole, but tape it well to reduce side pinning.

Also, if you mix them, you can't really make prints for trades, because you won't know what you have.

Wat does a small hole in the bottom corner of a tub have anything to do with side pinning?

Air. Plus, it's really not needed. Just put a lid over the tub, pick it up, and drain it.
