Hey bob, ever find "pink lady slipper" (dont know the sci. name)
I found a few when I was hiking to mt. Colden in the Adirondacks a few years back. its a really cool orchid. I think i read that it was threatened for a while because it was overused as a Valerian substitute.

Yeah. Pink Ladies slipper is my most commonly found orchid. You're right except that the lady's slipper used as a valerian substitue is the large yellow ladies slipper. It's much harder to find those around here. I'm still looking for the ram's head lady's slipper. I've been looking for a few years and have about a half dozen species observed. There are about sixty native orchids in New York State.

I will confess something that should be quite obvious, CC.  I love mushrooms, i.e. fungi.  I really do.  I am talking about a strong feeling, i.e. emotion, for them.  I think they are beautiful.  I even dream of them.

He's seven years old. Still looks and acts like a pup. He's not the smartest dog, but he's well trained. He treed a fischer last Saturday. He's lucky it decided to run!
