WTF? This one couldn't even support itself, so I used a marker to keep it from toppling over.

Do you guys have any idea what the yield would be like for those two cakes? That big, long ass shroom on the left cake is about 6-7" long.

Yeah, I was figuring around 0.5 to 0.75 pounds.
I have never gotten a mushroom that massive off of one cake. You can definitely tell that the cake put most of its effort into that pin. There are a few medium sized ones on the back side of the cake that were not photographed.

In the second picture you can see 3 Costa Rican cakes. They have been subjected to the exact same fruiting conditions, and they have produced nothing -not a single pin. The other Ecuador cake in the bottom left as lots of pins coming in.
We will see. The veils are tearing! Oh my!
