I found this in my grandparents barn and would like to restore it for use. It needs a new gauge, all the lock down handles are missing and I need to know how to operate it. There is no name or identifying marks anywhere. The smaller part is simply a screw that seems to be used to release pressure. The larger part is knurled with a lock nut underneath, which is frozen at the moment (if not attached). I don't want to damage it by trying to force it loose. I've cleaned the ports out from the inside and the larger part is spring loaded, if I pull on it pressure would release (I let water flow through it to clean it out). I assume that the larger part is to adjust the pressure which is then locked into place with the lock nut.

This looks a lot like an All American.

The bump on the left is the pressure relief valve.
You can manually release pressure there, and that is where
excess pressure is released if you get too hot.

The bump on the right is the emergency relief valve,
and it looks like it has been modified after-market.
You will want to replace this threaded part completely
along with the pressure gauge.
You will probably have to replace all three.

You can buy bakelite handles and other parts for this.

Good Luck.  (you have some work ahead of you)
